David A. Varland, D.D.S.

David A. Varland was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. Dr. Varland received his Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of Illinois, followed by graduate work in biochemistry at Northern Illinois University. In 1981, he graduated from Northwestern University Dental School and subsequently completed a Residency in Hospital Dentistry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. In 1984, he joined the Rockford practice of Dr. Louis V. Fourie, with whom he worked until Dr. Fourie’s retirement in 1988.

David A. Varland, D.D.S., is a member of the Winnebago County Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Varland is board certified in sleep medicine. He earned his Fellowship Award from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2004 and has received certificates from the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, The L.D. Pankey Institute, and The Misch International Implant Institute.

Dr. Varland’s postgraduate education in dentistry is geared toward providing the most effective technology and comfortable care to his patients in a warm, friendly environment. In addition to being dedicated to his work, Dr. Varland enjoys spending time with his family and friends and participating in a range of outdoor activities.
